Everything inside HESI A2 prep

Not a generic study guide — a focused toolkit built around the eight modules schools actually pick from.

Module-by-module practice sets

Math, Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, Grammar, A&P, Biology, and Chemistry — drill only what your school requires, in the format it tests.

Explanations that teach

Every answer opens a worked rationale — why the correct option is right and why each tempting distractor fails. One question teaches four facts.

A&P at pre-nursing depth

Anatomy & physiology is where the HESI A2 separates prepared students from lucky ones. Dedicated drills for every major organ system.

Math & conversion drills

Fractions, ratios, proportions, and metric–household conversions with the on-screen calculator rules of the real test — skills you’ll reuse in dosage calcs.

Vocabulary & grammar

Health-science vocabulary and standard English conventions — the two modules students most often underestimate, drilled in short daily sets.

Study anywhere

Fully mobile — a module set on the bus, ten A&P questions between classes. Your progress syncs across devices.

The modules, one by one

Schools choose which modules to require — most require five. Click through the core set.

Mathematics

Basic operations, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios & proportions, and unit conversions (metric and household). A calculator is provided on-screen.

  • Ratio-and-proportion setups are the highest-yield skill
  • Know mL ↔ oz ↔ tsp ↔ tbsp conversions cold
  • Roman numerals and military time appear regularly

Your 3-step study loop

A simple system that turns 6 weeks into a passing score.

1

Diagnose

Take a practice set per module on day one. Your weakest module — usually A&P or Math — gets the most hours in your plan.

2

Drill

Work sets module by module. Read every rationale, even on questions you got right — the distractor explanations are where the depth comes from.

3

Pass

Re-drill your misses until they’re gone, then walk in knowing the format, the pacing, and the content. Book your seat through your school.

Try a HESI A2-style question

This is how our practice works: answer, then read the reasoning.

A patient’s blood pH drops below 7.35.
Chemistry · Acids & Bases

This condition is best described as:

Alkalosis, because the blood is too basic
Acidosis, because the blood is too acidic
Homeostasis, because pH is stable
Neutral, because 7.35 is the midpoint
Full rationale

Answer: acidosis. The pH scale runs 0–14 with 7 as neutral; normal blood pH is tightly held at 7.35–7.45. Below 7.35 = acidosis; above 7.45 = alkalosis. HESI chemistry items often connect directly to physiology like this — learn the pH scale as a clinical tool, not just a number line.

HESI A2 questions, answered

Scores are reported per module as percentages. Many programs require 75–80% or higher on each required module, and competitive programs look higher. Your school’s admissions page is the only authoritative source.
It depends on the school. Most require five — Math, Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, Grammar, and A&P — while some add Biology, Chemistry, or skip science entirely. Always confirm before registering.
Each module has roughly 25–55 questions, and schools set their own total time — commonly 3–4 hours for the full battery. Plan your practice pacing per module, not for one giant sitting.
Students usually find them comparable in difficulty but different in shape: TEAS 7 is one fixed exam, while the HESI A2 is modular with deeper A&P. If your school accepts both, take a practice set of each and sit your stronger format.
System by system: learn the structures, then the function, then how the system interacts with others. Drill questions immediately after each system — retrieval practice beats re-reading for retention.
Retake policies are school-specific (waiting periods, attempt limits, highest-score vs most-recent rules). Because our package is a one-time purchase, your prep is still available when you reschedule.
